2011 Hasbro GI Joe Sky Striker XP-21F Combat Jet SDCC Issue 5 Starscream

To mark the 30th Anniversary of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, Hasbro was able to offer the Sky Striker combat jet for the first time in years. The original moulds for this iconic toy have long been lost. That meant the creative team on the Joe brand had to start from scratch, and for the most part they stayed very true to the original design. In fact, the only major difference is the cockpit. The original version version featured two seats with parachutes for quick escapes when things got hairy. The new version can only house one figure. Minor differences include black tail fins and a pile of customisable stickers. Beyond that, it is truly faithful to the original toy many kids played with for hours on end.

Just before the standard version hit the shelves, Hasbro produced a limited number of the G.I. Joe / Transformers Starscream & Cobra Commander figure set, which was sold exclusively at the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con. It featured the exact same tooling as the Sky Striker, but came packed with a different figure and sticker decals.
